Why train as an instructor with us

Hearts and Bones' instructor training teaches beginner to advanced Pilates exercises with a contemporary approach. Our aim is to help you hone your skills, develop your own voice and style, and become the best Pilates instructor you can be.

Training philosophy — classical base with today's knowledge

Hearts and Bones respect the traditions of the Pilates method, which include concentration, centering, control, precision, breathing, alignment, flow, and integration. We also incorporate contemporary scientific research. Our students learn:
  • beginner to advanced Pilates exercises
  • how to modify exercises to suit different body needs
  • best-practice teaching tools
  • contraindications to movements
  • how to use the exercises to best meet clients individual needs.

Our educational programmes are based on our Essentially Pilates Movement and Teaching Principles that support the way the body moves. These principles incorporate the most up-to-date biomechanical theories of movement and exercise science and best practice teaching principles. Understanding these principles creates a dynamic learning experience. You'll be able to apply this knowledge to your practice immediately.

Teacher Trainers — highly skilled, with diverse experience to draw on

Our teacher trainers are your guides and mentors. They support you as you create your place within our Pilates community.

Our teacher trainers help us create outstanding students. We expect our teacher trainers to be innovators in their own right. They must show willingness for continued professional growth and development. They come from diverse backgrounds which means they offer a broad range of experience for our students to draw on.

We encourage students to develop their own voice and style

We aim to provide our students with the educational tools to teach and grow as a practitioner.

We do not dictate 'how' you should teach. We encourage you to find your own voice and style as a teacher.
